Client usually is a trading or manufacturing or mining or importing company which requires freight cost for moving dry bulk cargo from loading point to discharging point but not willing to take the risk of chartering vessels or in most cases do not have the technical/commercial set up to carry out a full time charter operations. JMC provides them with a simple fixed freight solution so that clients can hedge their freight risk with us.

Except for spot shipments, the company also maintains a portfolio of forward bookings/COAs that allow us to develop most efficient cargo combinations/liner service. In this scenario, our client has several shipments spread over time or places for which they require freight services. JMC carefully collects all the data from the client and works out a freight solution to shield the client from volatility of freight over a period of time.

Risk management is an integral part of company activity and any potential exposure is monitored and analysed on a daily basis. The derivatives department is within the company structure and uses full scope of derivatives instruments. (FFA, Freight options, Bunker Swaps) to hedge potential exposure of physical contracts/COAs.
